Principal's Message

Dear El Monte High School Lions,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!

On behalf of the entire El Monte High School community, it is my honor and privilege to welcome you back to Lion Country. As we begin another exciting year together, I am filled with optimism and pride for all that lies ahead. As both the Principal of El Monte High School and a proud alumnus, I hold this school close to my heart. The experiences, relationships, and opportunities I found here shaped my journey, and it is a privilege to now serve the same community that shaped me. Whether you are returning to our campus or joining the Lion family for the first time, know you are an important part of a school community committed to excellence, equity, and opportunity for every student.

At El Monte High School, we believe that every student has unique talents, strengths, and potential waiting to be discovered. This year, I encourage each of you to embrace our school motto and continue to “Find Your Roar.” Challenge yourself academically, become involved in extracurricular activities, build meaningful relationships, and take advantage of the many opportunities available to you. Growth happens when we step outside our comfort zones, persevere through challenges, and strive to become the best version of ourselves.

To our students: Your journey is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing engaging learning experiences, rigorous academic programs, and supportive environments that prepare you for success in college, career, and life. Set ambitious goals, remain focused on your future, and remember that your teachers, counselors, staff, and administrators are here to support you every step of the way. Your success is our shared mission.

To our parents, guardians, and families: Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We value the partnership between home and school, as your involvement is essential to student success. We are committed to open communication and collaboration, ensuring every student feels supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

I am excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to an outstanding year filled with achievement, memorable experiences, and Lion pride. Thank you for being part of our extraordinary school community.

Let's make the 2026–2027 school year our best yet!

Sincerely,

Eddie Cuevas
